Account book, 1807-1848, 1807-1820.

Consists of 53 pp. of Benson's accounts, 20 pp. of someone else's later accounts and daybook, many blank leaves, then 4 pp. of inventory, sale and settlement expenses for Benson's estate and 7 pp. of miscellaneous accounts. Most of Benson's accounts consist of farm work or labor, but regular entries show up for weaving specified amounts of cloth. Peter Benson (Stuttson's son ?) purchased most of Stuttson's estate at the November 1820 sale; he also appears in the later accounts in the middle of the volume. Another hand then records 7 pages of daybook entries between May 1843 and July 1847. These last are recorded in the town of Fabius, NY, some 6 miles from Pompey.

Stuttson Benson lived in Pompey, Onondaga County, NY. His account book reveals that, while he earned the bulk of his income from agriculture, he also earned money by weaving cloth.
